Lonesome Dave's

Concert Reviews '92

20 April ... Cleveland, OH ... Tickler's Lounge

Lonesome Dave's Foghat makes a stop at Ticklers Lounge in Parma, Ohio which is by far the smallest venue I have ever seen them play in, but whats lost in arenas is found in smaller halls- great acoustics. they rocked thru all their hits and threw in some newer tunes as well, I remember an Eye For An Eye which was done with Dave on acoustic guitar, I remember Lethal Combination too. Somebody's Been Sleeping In My Bed was also performed and an early version of Jump That Train. I really enjoyed how they turned the theme to Peter Gunn into a blow the roof off rocker (I hope this site may be able to track down a copy someday, its really worth hearing). Fans had been screaming for Slow Ride from about the 2nd song in which Dave replied were not that far along yet, patience. Eddie Zyne really had a nice nite on the drums, keeping everybody in time. The encore was IJWMLTY which included excerpts from the song Who Do Ya Love before the 2nd end solo out. Slow Ride ended the show. The odd thing is there was really no backstage for them to go and towel off for a bit so the band just sat there drying off as Dave miked up "just give us a few minutes and we'll be back at it." I think it was bit uncomfortable for them to be seen freshening up when they are used to being behind the curtain. All in all a great night out and they also made time to sign a few autographs and shake a few hands near their tour bus.
