Around here in PA and NJ there is a legendary story about a time when Foghat played at The Satellite Lounge in New Jersey. The club was right outside Fort Dix.So, the story goes that Carlo Rossi the club's owner told the band to turn volume down numerous times and finally he came out of the office with a shotgun and shot out the PA. Anyone here ever hear this story and if so, can anyone elaborate? Thanks

Really? No one here has ever heards this story? It's legendary in my neck the woods. In fact read what none other than Bruce Springsteen had to say about it.09.03.74 Houston, TX, intro to ‘New York City Serenade’: ”we just came from playing this place....in Jersey, near Fort Dix....this place called the Satellite Lounge....and it was run by this guy.....named Carlo Rossi....right....this cat named Carlo Rossi......and.....we just got a new drummer, he’d only been with us about ....four days and we were gonna cancel out the gig because we weren’t ready.... and Carlo calls up my manager and says.....’Tell ‘em to get down here’.....and he said he was gonna kill me if I didn’t come...and....and so we called up these cats we know.....this guy named Tyrone and Rocky (laughter)....and these cats run another place , they run this joint called.....Earl’s Lounge and we said ‘Tyrone, man....this cat Carlo...he’s gonna kill Bruce, you know (chuckles)....and Tyrone says ‘Be there....Go’ (chuckles)(cheers)....and.....and it’s funny because a week before , a week before the cat.....this band Foghat played there....and he came out and he told them to turn down.....and they didn’t listen to him.....he came up again and told ‘em to turn down and they didn’t listen to him.....so the third time he comes up, he says..... ‘I told you guys to turn down’....pulls out a gun and shoots the amps....that’s a true story....pulls out a gun, blows the amps away”

Carlo must have done that more than once. At The satellite you went down steps behind the stage to get to the dressing room. Carlo was at the top of these steps one night when The Band Midnight Circus asked him for a cash draw. He pulled a gun and shot it over their heads and asked if that was fast enough. He always paid us in one dollar bills.
