Letters
From Fans
Here
are some of the
letters Carl
(original webmaster)
received...
Thanks
for creating this
site. I saw Foghat
five times between
1976 and 1981.
They truly don't
get the respect
they deserve!
The best concert
ever was 1978
in Cincinnati.
Cheap Trick opened
the show, and
Foghat totally
blew the coliseum
apart. I'll never
forget that show!!
Thanks again for
the site.
- --- J.
Matt Sauls
Hi,
I've just found
your Foghat
Home Page.
Fine!!! I'm
a very big
fan of Foghat
and I have
all their records
without the
two "Best
Of" compilations
and "Before
Foghat Days" album.
It's good that
they are back
in business.
I think I am
the only fan
here in Finland.
Nobody else
knows anything
about the band
when I've asked
if they heard
Foghat's music.
If you know
when their
new album is
coming out,
let me know.
Thanks.
- --- Martti

Great
web page! I've
been a foghat
fan for over
20 years. The
kids now, don't
know what they're
missing. After
all these years
of seeing Foghat
at these huge
concerts, I
had the pleasure
of seeing them
in a small
club in Poughkeepsie
N.Y. in 1995.
After the show,
all of the
band members
stood around
outside by
the tour bus,
talking with
a handful of
fans. They
are just regular
guys who like
to rock & roll.
I look forward
to seeing them
again whenever
they come around
to N.Y. again.
- --- Mike
I
have everything
from Foghat
through to
Return Of The
Boogie Men.
Saw them on
January 24th,
1990, at a
club here in
Salt Lake City.
It kicked Ass!
I was able
to convert
a lot of people
at that show.
Also saw them
August 22,
1992 at a festival
show called
Livestock.
Again that
was here in
Salt Lake City.
There were
about 40,000
people. They
weren't as
good as in
the club, but
they still
rocked. They're
the ones that
got the girls
to start taking
their shirts
off, so good
job guys! And
sorry if my
attention wasn't
completely
focused on
your show.
Anyway, keep
up the good
work. Hope
they make it
this way soon.
And by the
way, my favorite
album is Rock
And Roll.

Our
FOG hat is
off to you
for the way
cool info ...
Thanks for
all your work.
We saw the
band at Pine
Knob in Michigan
on 6/30/96
and Michael
McConnell hooked
us up. He told
us about your
web site. Keep
up the valuable
work and thanks
again...

Stewart and
John McKinlay (from

Add
August 31,
1996 to your
concert list.
They will play
at the Coach
House in San
Juan Capistrano,
California.
I just signed
a contract
for my band
to open for
their gig.
I'm forty years
old and remember
quite fondly,
rockin' to
Foghat during
high school.
It's good to
see that people
have not forgotten
Foghat. Keep
up the bitchen
web page!

Love
your Foghat
page. I've
been a fan
for about 7
years. I just
turned 25 and
hate the current
top 40 crap.
I will be seeing
Foghat on Friday,
July 12th,
making that
my second time.
Possible plans
to follow and
see them again
while they
are in the
neighborhood.
I'll E-mail
my thoughts
and review
of the show
sometime after
my ears stop
ringing.

Hey
Carl, great
job on the
page. I was
talking to
a friend, and
he told me
about it, so
I checked it
out. Very nice,
keep up the
great work!
I'm also a
Foghat fan,
but kind of
lost track
of them lately.
Good to hear
they are still
recording and
touring. Seems
to be the latest
trend ... older
groups getting
back together.
Checked out
the Gorge concert
series and
there are a
lot of reunion
type concerts
... Styx, Kansas,
REO, and a
couple of others,
its great!!!
All the music
from my "era." Again,
great site!!!!
- ---
Jay
What
a wonderful
page! First
Foghat album
I purchased
was Rock N
Roll (or Rock
and Biscuit
as we called
it). It's still
great today
and remains
my Favorite!
My first Foghat
concert had
to be 1973-74
along with
Montrose and
Aerosmith.
Foghat blew
them away!
Anyway, so
much for pleasent
memories! I'm
gonna chect
your concert
conection to
see if the
band is headed
my way! Thanks
again.
- --- Craig
Wood
Thanks
for putting
this site together.
I have enjoyed
myself.
- --- mkhnow@aol.com
I
LOVE THIS PLACE!
I'm so glad
Dave & Co.
are out touring.
I REALLY look
forward to
the live CD & video
next year.
They completely
knocked out
Louisville
a couple of
weeks ago.
Fantastic gig!!!
Can you tell
I'm a big fan?

Greetings
From Boston!
I just received
confirmation
that my band,
'El Camino'
will be supporting
Foghat at their
October 9th,
Boston appearance
at Mama Kin's.
Needless to
say I am totally
PUMPED. I am
a Foghat fan
and was planning
to attend the
show anyway.
Imagine when
I heard I would
be sharing
the stage with
Lonesome Dave
and the boys!
Totally cool.
I think anyone
in the Boston
area planning
to see the
show should
come a little
early. El Camino
is the 2nd
band on. I
promise if
you dig Foghat,
you will love
the All-American
Rock & Roll
swagger of
El Camino.
Sorry for the
shameless plug,
but such is
the marketing
phenom of the
web. Check
out the El
Camino web
site,
it's linked
to the Foghat
Main Page.
Thanks for
a great site.
FOGHAT RIPS!
- --- Joseph
Sharrino
Just
discovered
your Foghat
web page, enjoyed
reading your
'History Of
The Band' very
much. A few
bits of info,
for what they
may be worth
... 'Fool for
the City' was
the first Foghat
album to go
platinum. Foghat
Live went double
platinum (I
felt that it
would right
after we made
it, and said
as much to
Foghat's manager,
Tony Outeda.
He didn't think
so, and I said, "Then
if I'm right,
and it goes
double, pay
me a $25,000.00
bonus." It
sure is nice
to be right
now and then.)
In addition
to the records
you mentioned,
I also produced
'Foghat Live',
'Girls To Chat
And Boys to
Bounce', 'In
the Mood for
Something Rude'
and 'Return
of the Boogie
Men'. I also
played bass
on 'Girls To
Chat' and 'In
the Mood',
though I never
toured with
the band again
after leaving
in 1976. Once
again, good
job on the
page. They're
a lovely bunch
of lads, and
it's nice to
see them back
on the scene.
Regards,
- ---
Nick Jameson
I
like your awesome
Foghat page!
In this day
and age of
alternarock,
it's nice to
see a homepage
dedicated to
one of the
great power
rock bands.
I just bought
four of their
records this
past weekend.
Again, great
page!
- ---
Shawn Barnhart
Just
wanted to say
that your Foghat
page looks
great. I'm
a bass guitarist
in The Taxidermists,
and have been
a fan of the
band for about
ten years now.
We are a Wisconsin
based band,
and have played
many Foghat
tunes over
the years.
Keep up the
good work on
the page!
- --- Jim
Pierron
I
just wanted
you to know
how much I
liked the Foghat
page. Fabulous
piece of work!
I can listen
to most any
kind of music,
but prefer
70's rock and
roll above
all, so I list
Foghat as one
of my all time
favorites.
I saw them
in Savannah,
Georgia in
1980 (I think)
on the Tight
Shoes tour
(still have
the shirt).
Whenever I
talk to guys
about concerts
I've been to,
I always mention
that Foghat
at one point
in the show
was down to
the bassist
and drummer
on stage and
STILL had me
moving in my
seat. Also,
the version
of Third Time
Lucky, done
by Lonesome
Dave soloing
on the electric
piano was beautiful!
Hopefully,
I can see them
again this
year.
- --- Mark
Tootle
I
love the fact
that there
is a FOGHAT
page! You have
done a GREAT
job. One deserving
of such a band.
You should
be proud! Keep
up the good
work!
- --- Gene
Hobbs
Hello
Carl, I don't
think I have
ever told you
how much I
enjoy your
Foghat page.
I think its
great and I
really think
that Foghat
deserves more
credit than
they get for
being, in my
opinion, the
best rock and
roll band there
is. Keep doing
a great job!
- --- Nickie
John Scarsone
Hello!
I'd like to
thank your
for your great
page. I'm an "old" Brazilian
Foghat's fan
and finally
I could see
them playin'
alive last
year (Bainerd
and Chicago).
Man, it was
great!!! I'd
like to tell
you that your
page helped
me a lot to
program my
trip to U.S.A.
Thanks a lot!
- --- Julio
Franco
Carl
... Just read
your page on
Foghat for
the first time.
I think it's
great!!! I've
been a fan
of theirs for
over twenty
years!! I can't
wait for this
new tour with
Steppenwolf!!!
Wow, is all
I can say to
that. Thanks
for this web
site of Foghat,
it brought
back great
memories for
me. Keep up
the good work!
- --- Sue
Just
discovered
the Foghat
site! Boy,
what a blast
from the past.
I grew up listening
to Foghat,
they were my
favorite, along
with Rush.
I still have
a handful (4)
of the old
vinyl albums
in my collection
including Energized
on 8-track
(unfortunately
no 8-track
player). I
think Rod Price
is one of the
most melodic
guitar players
around still
today. Furthermore,
no current
pop guitar
player today
has reached
or met his
style and ear
to produce
a great guitar
lead/solo.
My all-timefavorite
lead is on
the tune "Take
It Or Leave
It." Just
awesome control
of feedback.
Thanks, and
best of luck.
- --- Steve
Poelker
Hi
there! Great
to see a Foghat
site being
established
on the web!
It is very
informative,
keep up the
*good* work!
Looking forward
to the forthcoming
live album
already. Any
chance to see
it becoming
a double CD?
I still find "Live" much
too short;
I think it
should have
been massively
upgraded for
its CD release.
I have been
a Foghat fan
for long and
I have always
been of the
opinion their
forte is their
stage act,
although I
do like some
of their studio
albums a lot.
There have
been some just
awesome shows
around and
I must say,
I'm glad to
have been able
to see their
shows several
times.
- --- Dr.
Thomas Schmid
Foghat
Rocks! I just
got Foghat's "Return
Of The Boogie
Men" last
week, and I
remembered
how much I
loved Foghat.
I have been
to your website
4 times now,
and I have
gotten a lot
of good information.
Foghat is one
of the 70's
bands that
I missed seeing,
but I plan
on seeing them
this time around
if they come
within 200
miles. I have
most of their
albums. With
the newest
one, I only
have 2 more
to get, and
I WILL get
them. Thank
you for your
website, I
know it takes
a lot of work.
Rock On! Another
Foghat Fan
.....
- --- Richard
Amundsen
I
have really
enjoyed your
Foghat web
site! I am
fairly new
on this internet
stuff, and
your page was
one of the
first ones
I searched.
We saw Foghat
in 1975 at
Murray, KY
..... 1981
in Nashville,
TN ..... 1994
in Paducah,
KY ..... and
we'll see them
again on 03-04-97
in Paducah.
We learned
of their latest
stop in Paducah
from your website.
Their '94 concert
in Paducah
was great!
We met the
guys after
the show. They
autographed
albums and
old concert
T-shirts for
us, and let
us take some
great photos.
I've enjoyed
Foghat for
many years!
They play my
kind of music,
that down in
the dirt rock & roll
boogie-blues.
Thank you.
A faithful
Foghat fan
from Kentucky.
- --- Mark
Jackson
When
I was stone
blue, Foghat
sure helped
me through!
Foghat continues
to roll into
Jersey occasionally
to provide
tight, hard,
loud, boogie-ful
medicine for
myself and
friends. It's
nice to see
so many great
letters. I
guess I'm probably
classified
as a perpetual
fan of sorts,
or something
like that.
Been there
through all
the thick and
thin ... you
all know what
I'm talking
about. The
band is better
than ever,
and it's great
news about
yet another
new release.
I know my strung
jammin' brother
is looking
forward to
Rod's new video.
Never could
locate any
video except
a gig in Hollywood,
CA that aired
on Nickelodeon
many years
ago. Foghat
(Dave, Roger,
etc ...) are
household words
in my house
and I can still
hear the neighbors
screaming to
turn it down
after 25 years.
Just got AOL
and what an
incredible
surprise to
find the greatest
band's web
page. Many
thanks for
all your hard
work! Hope
to hear a couple
tracks off
the up-coming
CD when the
band comes
to New Jersey
in March '97.
- -----
Jack Burns
I
have seen Foghat
many times
in the last
7 years. I
saw the lonesome
Dave version
in 1990, which
was one of
the best shows
I ever saw.
He played in
a club in NYC
for about 2
1/2 hours!
I also saw
Roger earl's
version with
Cartwright
and MacGregor
in 1991, which
was also a
great show.
I've seen the
reunited Foghat
3 times in
the last 3
years at "Suntan
Jam" in
NJ ... "Tramps" in
NYC ... and "Westbury
Music Fair" on
Long Island.
All were great
shows! I think
Return Of The
Boogie Men
is a great
album, but
am looking
forward to
a new album
... hopefully
in the near
future.

I'm
glad there's
a web page
for the most
underrated
blues-rock
band of all,
Foghat. Since
the first time
I saw them
in the mid
'70s when they
opened up for
Steve Miller,
I've been hooked.
I saw the reunited
band at Tramps
in New York
and they sounded
as good as
ever. I've
got all the
Bearsville
Records, I've
even got an
album by The
Black Cat Bones
featuring a
pre-Foghat
Rod Price.
Can't wait
for the next
record.

Jim Agnello
Greetings,
glad to find
your web page.
Looking through
the "Letters" section
leaves me a
little speechless,
what can I
add? Thanks & keep
up the good
work.
- -----
Dko
Hey
, I just stumbled
onto your page.
Excellent information.
I just saw
Foghat at the
Journey to
the Glades
show here in
South Florida.
For me, Foghat
was the best
act there,
which included
Steppenwolf,
Pat Travers
and others.
It brought
back memories
of my very
first concert
in '76. Foghat
and Wet Willie
in a free concert
here in Miami.
I'll be heading
to the store
to pick up "Return
Of The Boogie
Men." Thanks!
- -----
Mike Estrumsa
Thanks
a ton for the
fantastic Foghat
page! I've
been a fan
for the entire
25 years. There
still hasn't
been anyone
like them.
I've got all
the stuff done
up to the time
Rod Price left,
and now their
new CD ...
even most of
the Savoy Brown
records. Those
were the days.
If you don't
have the new
Savoy Brown
CD "Bring
it Home," check
it out if you
can ... it
smokes. Thanks
again for your
efforts in
putting this
site together.
You've made
an aging fan
very happy!
I'll definitely
be back.
- -----
Grady Bird
Your
Foghat webpage
is fantastic!
Clean, simple,
well laid out,
quick & easy
loading graphics
... an inspiration
to those of
us still trying
to crank out
their own!
I've been a
fan of Foghat
since I first
heard "Slow
Ride" cranked
to the hilt
on my car stereo!
Glad to see
they're making
the rounds
again. Keep
up the great
work, and thanks!

Kris Jacobs
I
am going to
see the SummerDaze
'97 tour at
Westbury music
fair on June
13th I am really
looking forward
to it. I haven't
missed a Foghat
concert yet
that has come
to the New
York area.
In '95 at suntan
lake in N.J
I saw Foghat
play. The other
bands that
played that
day were Bad
Company, Ace
Freley and
Peter Wolf.
Foghat blew
them away!!
... even though
Bad Company
was pretty
good. Also
in '95 I saw
Foghat play
at Tramps in
N.Y.C There
were 2 opening
bands but they
were just local
acts. Lonesome
Dave mentioned
that night
that it had
been a long
time since
the original
line up had
played in N.Y.C.!!
I brought a
friend of mine
who had never
seen Foghat
before, and
he was amazed
how they jammed.
In '96 I saw
Foghat headline
the godfathers
of rock tour
also at Westbury.
The bands that
played that
night were
Black Oak Arkansas,
Iron Butterfly
and Mountain.
It was a great
show, all four
bands were
fantastic!!
The summer
daze tour should
also be great.
I saw Pat Travers
back in the
late '70s.
I saw B.O.C
in the late
'70s and early
'80s, but I
haven't seen
Steppenwolf
before, so
it is going
to be fun.
Looking forward
to the new
live album
and also the
SummerDaze
CD. Hopefully,
they will be
selling them
at the show.
Maybe I can
even get an
autograph!
Hopefully my
wife won't
rush me out
of the place.

Enjoyed
the Foghat
website. I
just recently
heard a KSHE
DJ refer to "the
late great
Dave Peverett," and
had to stop
by to see if
it could be
true. These
guys had a
fresh, new
sound when
they arrived
on the scene,
and were the
best at what
they did. This
news is sad
but Lonesome
Dave lives
on. Dave was
the face of
Foghat, the
focal point
of their stage
presence, in
my opinion,
and one of
the best rock
guitar slingers
to strap on
an axe. Rock
on Lonesome
Dave.
-----
Mark Riefler
And
here are the
kinds of letters
Evin receives...
"Rod
Price" lives
in Tampa, Florida,
and does not play
with Foghat anymore.
Do you know that?
-----
Rich Petitt - Feb 1999
When
asked where he got this information
from, he replied...
What
I am saying is: The old guy on
the web site claiming to be "Rod
Price" (which
is a stage name) is not the Rod
Price who was with the band in
the '70's. I know Rod personally.
He's now a successful real estate
appraiser in Tampa. Over the
years, Rod has sued the various "Foghat" bands
to stop them from improperly
using his name and the band's
name. Rod was injured in the
early '80's in boating accident
and does not play the guitar
anymore.
-----
Rich Petitt - Feb 1999
This
guy wouldn't
respond...
I
know Roger Earl
personally and
you are very
lucky he is
a laid back
man because
a lot of the
info about him
and his involvement
with Foghat
presently is
WRONG he no
longer plays
with the band
and hasn't for
many years.
So if I was
you I would
get my info
about Roger
CORRECT.
