"I've got my home in my hand."- Foghat FOGHAT'S "LONESOME" DAVE PEVERETT PASSES AWAY: It is with true sadness and regret that I forward this news to you all.

Foghat founding member "Lonesome" Dave Peverett died yesterday of complications from cancer. Although the disease had been in remission, he recently came down with pneumonia and was hospitalized Saturday. Peverett and Foghat will perhaps be best remembered for rock-radio staples such as "I Just Wanna Make Love to You," "Slow Ride", "Driving Wheel", "Stone Blue" and "Fool for the City."

I had the honor of interviewing Mr. Peverett last Fall, while taking in a Foghat show a couple of weeks later. I've always been a huge Foghat fan and enjoyed speaking with him immensely. His stage presence was inspiring even after all he'd gone through.

He was a dear soul and a true gentleman. There is so much I could say, but it would all fall short of conveying how much he will be missed.

Lonesome Dave...Rock the Heavens,
